“PHILIPPINES has been dubbed as the “Social Media Capital of the World”, as it has taken the global lead in one particular area: time spent on social media.” – Coach Jojo Ampeloquio

DHM’s Marketing team attended Apollo Academy’s Digital Marketing Masterclass led by Coach Jojo Ampeloqiuo at Dusit Thani, Makati City on July 31, 2019. It was a whole day seminar that talks about the advance training and techniques in digital marketing applicable to companies, start-ups and freelancers in the field of marketing, advertising and communications.

Coach Jojo is a Digital Marketing Master. He has been the head of marketing in multi-international companies for more than 20 years that produced effective marketing from all media forms – print, radio, TV and mobile ads.

“Choose the right influencers and ambassadors that well represent your brand and can peak to your audience.” – Coach Jojo Ampeloquio

He is the CEO of Amplifyd Social Influence PH, a digital marketing agency and the only influencer marketing agency that manages celebrities in the Philippines. He is also the CEO of Talent Marketers Inc. where he handles celebrities and famous public figures. He is skilled in customer service, strategic planning and marketing strategy.

The seminar gave its attendees an insight about the current trends in digital marketing and social media strategy, the growth of influencer marketing to brands and consumers, the analysis of identifying the right target market, and the effectiveness of online ads.

Discussing aside, pause for a while and appreciate the buffet breakfast they had while on break for an hour.

When resumed, attendees were surprised by panelists who came to share their experience about influencer marketing. They were Neri Miranda, a TV actress, entrepreneur and mommy influencer, and Sam YG, a media host and lifestyle influencer. Both of them have proven their names from TV to sponsored social media ads.

“Authenticity is really important. The brand speaks for who you are. The people follow me because of my story.” – Neri Miranda

Neri Miranda talked about how influencer marketing made her daily lifestyle change. From a TV celebrity turned full-time wife and mom, she enjoyed being a happy housewife. Little did she discover how being a long-storyteller on Facebook and Instagram made her followers grow into a mega million. She used her natural tone – Filipino language and budget lifestyle to share her experience with a certain brand with an actual demo on how she uses the product (which received sales revenue the day after!).

“Credibility is important. Same with being authentic, kasi alam mong totoo. Relatable and reachable by the audience.” – Sam YG

Sam YG discussed about how effective influencer marketing can be between a brand, influencer and consumer on how they can tap the right target market. Being an influencer himself, he wasn’t a yes man to all collaborations; he suggested his opinions to tweak the right content to share to his macro followers on social media. As a radio DJ, he uses tools to connect with his fans real-time and get live engagement together. He’s been endorsing a number of male clothing, lifestyle and electronic products and speaking to the crowd on how the product makes his day motivational.

After the talk, the panel went open for questions. The Marketing Officer asked about a case-to-case influencer marketing issue, which both of the influencers were able to clarify. Another question was answered by Coach Jojo regarding which media tool to use that is best for the brand.

The seminar gave attendees an intellectual learning on how to influence themselves also as brands. They had an individual, company and group pictorial after the seminar. Even the Marketing Officer was interviewed to share her opinion on how the seminar was. Kudos to Apollo Academy and Coach Jojo for aspiring marketers and first-time learners to produce the right ads in the digital age!
